I tweeted about password being sent in clear text from Adyen (a payment service provider). They called me up and told me I could not be a customer since I had damaged their reputation.
- adambard 13y ago1) Why would you want to use them after that, and 2) you bloody well deserved it.
- sleepyhead 13y ago1) Fair point. I guess it shows the poor state of the other payment providers :) 2) Care to elaborate? Obviously I disagree. I pointed out a fact and they responded saying I damaged their reputation and saying they don't want customers to talk about them on social media.
- adambard 13y agoThey can refuse you service for whatever reason they like. You did damage their reputation, even if they deserved it. It may not be a dispassionate business decision that got you banned, probably just a "well fuck this guy then" from a sales manager somewhere.
- sleepyhead 13y agoSure. Just giving my story here and expressing my opinion that I think it was not a wise move or sense reasoning.
- PeterisP 13y agoOf course, they are legally allowed to refuse service for whatever reason they like - but that doesn't mean that refusing service for such reasons is okay or proper.
