Government requests for user information double over three years

- magicalist 13y agoI'm not sure what your point (or that tweet's point) is. That they are absolute numbers? That there's not enough information here to know if all government requests to all companies have doubled? I think the implication is clearly that the requests that have doubled are the ones that google has received. You wouldn't be able to extrapolate that from a relative number anyways, as it would assume that all providers are getting numbers of government requests increasing at the same rate. Now if our government was just required to be accountable and released those numbers themselves... > here is another chart which factors in their traffic that chart doesn't include traffic anywhere...
- comboy 13y agoI can't believe I'm gonna write this, but in their defense, google user base had also likely doubled during that time.
- ars 13y agoA lot of the increase is from non US countries. Presumably they realized they can request things, and are now starting to.
- VladRussian2 13y agoAppetite comes with eating.
- daliusd 13y agoBut again does Google user base has grown in US only?
