You're diluting news.yc, man. Take it to reddit. What makes yc news /valuable/ is that it's not diluted with off-topic stuff. You weaken that when you make non-startup, non-code-related posts.
- rms 19y agoThe focus of Hacker News is going to be anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes a lot more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity. http://ycombinator.com/hackernews.html http://ycombinator.com/hackernews.html
- queensnake 19y agoWhen the news.yc becomes one more place to post the stale material going around, it'll be useless.
- bootload 19y ago"... You're diluting news.yc, man ..." How? Value is also derived from a variety of interesting articles like this one. This article is interesting because the understanding of humans is a superset of understanding startups. Plus it's pretty interesting to know how "minds" work. "... What makes yc news /valuable/ is that it's not diluted with off-topic stuff ..." Given your "Ad hominem" approach to discussion ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem ) limited contribution ( http://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=queensnake http://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=queensnake ) I suggest you take the advice of the previous poster. This site was "news.yc", now "HackerNews". By the way. As a point of style - use spaces b/w lines to achieve html "p" tags http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=67371 http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=67371
