Right now if you try to install it using pip `pip install Mercurial` will still install 2.7.2 version.
Do instead: `pip install http://mercurial.selenic.com/release/mercurial-2.8.tar.gz` http://mercurial.selenic.com/release/mercurial-2.8.tar.gz`
