A lot of these conferences have the same underlying value prop. Finovate for instance does the same thing - it costs something like 9k or 10k to present! But Finovate is useful, because the content is better curated, they attract more influential players from the space. It sounds like YSV does a much poorer job executing, which makes it a poor value, but not sure that makes it a scam
