It's a fair statement to say that most MBAs learn more about optimizing than creating. I'm not sure if it's fair to say which part is harder or easier. I've seen a lot of MBAs flame out in technology, but I also watched a cohort of Harvard MBAs in the mid-90s do a lot of great things in technology. In that case I think they were technologists at heart who got there just before the boom.
