I am curious as to how there are no Culture films

Maybe a tagline of "Drug taking communists in space!" puts potential backers off? ;-) As far as I know the only people who seem keen on the works of Mr Banks are the BBC (TV version of The Crow Road and a Radio 4 version of the Culture in The State of the Art).
