When he gets things wrong, it's kind of a standard practice of his to call himself out; vis a vis his claim chowder posts. I suppose it's possible that Gruber intentionally underestimated the Mini update so that he could stand mouth agape, dumfounded in excitement that Apple over-delivered, but that doesn't strike me as his style.
