Wow, that's a great little read. I'm surprised I haven't come across that before. I've always had that intuition, as I'm sure most experienced folks have, but it's the first time I've seen it articulated. I love things like this, i.e., demonstrations that these mathematical primitives are naturally elegant. It's often so hard to talk about, or even realize why, when given 2 or more viable choices, one is naturally better.
