Wow. As an European I just can't wrap my head around this. I'm currently working in London, and our firm has a policy that for up to 7 days of sick leave you don't even need to prove that you were sick, anything over that you need a letter from your GP. America, fuck yeah? ps: he didn't say it is the norm, he said it's a good idea to do it.
