You're right about the similarity with graphical mathematics (and Bret Victor's Kill Math project was something of an inspiration for this (even though I have some fundamental disagreements with his methods), even though I didn't see it until after I'd started it). You've identified a critical problem with graphical programming today: it fails to tell the whole story. This is exactly what I referred to in the post, and that's not inherent in the medium; rather, it's just that people have been trying to solve this problem in the wrong way.
