Yes, and I am right now. I've been using OS X pretty much as my primary OS for 6 years. Lately, because I've been working on a lot of systems programming, I've felt that it's too much of a hassle of constantly running everything on a virtual machine (although vagrant makes it a very nice process) so I switched to elementaryos[1]. It took a lot of tweaking but I'm generally happy with the switch, I still use sublime text as my general editing workhorse and other than some window management tool that I haven't found a easy replacement for I'm all good.
