I thought Perl was stuck at 5.x since they can't use 6?
- Moto7451 13y agoIt's analogous to Python 2/3 except Perl 6 has lacked the progress to allow Perl to live in a two branch world. It kinda sucks from a PR standpoint since Perl 5 has been under active development the entire time and had been importing a lot of the good ideas from Perl 6.
- rhubarbquid 13y agoWhat do you mean "can't use 6"? Perl 6 is using 6...
- latk 13y agoThe parent post meant: “The Perl5 language can never increment its major version to 6, as the Perl6 name is already taken” – which is silly, as Perl5 is currently at version 18.
