There are arguable shades of gray in those examples but the JSON one and this one:

... are pretty ill-informed. That just reeks of sloppy and lazy and not particularly concerned about his craft. If you're looking for a mentor I would think you'd want to align yourself with someone who is mindful of their craft, no?
- dreamfactory 13y agoI hate this knee-jerk response so many have that copy/paste == bad. You aren't in any position to create a generic API until you have at least 3 implementations, so unless it's a very obvious solution service, or you are practising some kind of extreme waterfall, copy/paste could be the best way to go. I'll hypothesise that most of the architectural problems we have are down to the cult of prefactoring.
