Macromedia were the last decent competitor in the 2D design space, then Adobe bought them. I was sad to see it happen, and I can see Photoshop has only gotten more bloated and nonsensical as time goes on. I hope some bold entrepreneur brings out some software to seriously compete with Creative Suite because the market sorely needs it.
