Nearly everyone I've ever spoke with thinks: - they are a hard worker - they deserve more money than they are making - they are stronger and/or smarter than the majority of their peers - they are a good driver It takes quite a bit to convince someone of the opposite. Once you have someone's back against the wall with a pile of evidence that they are dumb or lazy, they will start at you with every excuse in the book, mostly I think they are trying to convince themselves. Of course I believe I am a hard worker, deserve more money, am smarter/stronger than my peers and am a good driver too. Someboday has to be.
