Pinker, in "The Blank Slate", cites research that shows that in the nature-vs-nurture debate it appears to be 50/50. Interestingly, of the nurture half, peer group has a much larger influence than parents. Given that, I'm curious to know what kinds of friends you had growing up and whether they might account for some of your 'intrinsic motivation'.
