Oh, the drama!
Taking away a cell phone is the same as taking away a limb?
PLEASE.
When I was 14 or so I was grounded and had my AD&D books taken away. It sucked. I sulked.
It's only now, 23 years later, that I realize that I should have complained of amputation!
Sheesh.
- sp332 17y agoIt's not the kid being dramatic, it's the author. And since he's trying to write literature, he has the right. (Whether he's abused the right is another question...)
- tjic 17y ago> It's not the kid being dramatic, it's the author 100% agreed; I wasn't trying to suggest otherwise.
- omouse 17y agoAD&D books are not in the same category as the cellphone.
- tjic 17y agoAgreed. Cell phones don't usually encourage creativity.
- GHFigs 17y agoQuite a dramatic reaction for someone complaining about dramatic reactions. And for what? To claim superiority over a 14 year old girl? To shake your fist at a younger generation for being inscrutable? It isn't clear. For many people, making a connection between a story being told and a personal experience from their own life is something that opens their minds. For you it seems to have shut it tight.
