SEEKING FREELANCERS - NYC or Bay Area preferred - Remote is okay
Lambda is a talent agency for freelance developers and designers. We help you find clients, negotiate for higher rates, and take care of the business side of freelancing.
- Exceptional talent only: $100/hr minimum rate.
- No recruiters or spam. We're developers too and we only match consultants with projects that fit their expertise and interest.
- Serious clients only: Wanna hear about a disruptive social network for cats that "just needs a coder"? Neither do we.
If that's appealing, you can read more and sign up at: http://getlambda.com/ http://getlambda.com/
Freelancers with side projects or startups are especially welcome!
- leknarf 13y ago~20 minutes after posting, we have about 10 signups on the site and 3 downvotes. I know we can't be an ideal fit for everyone, but please don't downvote just because you dislike the concept. A lot of people on this thread are at least curious about the idea. They should get a chance to see the post. That said, feedback is most welcome. If you have comments, please share them here or contact me at andrew [at] getlambda [dot] com.
- wslh 13y agoI have a company (not a freelancer). Do you work/partner with companies too? we are in some niches and have advanced products and professional services. I can send you an email with more information if you are interested.
- leknarf 13y agoWe are working with a few dev shops. Most of our clients are looking for individual freelancers right now, but occasionally we speak with someone that would be better served by a team. So we can certainly chat.
- dipesh_batheja 13y agonice, have sent you a quick email. Are there any specific skills/areas you are urgently looking at?
- leknarf 13y agoRuby, Python, and PHP are the most popular languages. Front and backend web dev are roughly equally popular, but web dev is much more popular than native mobile (the split is around 80/20). We also get some interest in dev ops (chef is a little more popular than puppet, maybe 60/40).
- cik 13y agoI emailed you as well. Given that you've mentioned DevOps and I do DevOps freelancing (yes, it's possible!), I thought I'd give it a go. cheers, --c
- RDDavies 13y agoI emailed out the last time this was posted, and haven't heard anything back other than "we'll reach out to you soon".
- Mutinix 13y agoI signed up on the website last month and haven't received a reply either. It would be good to know if it's a yes, a no or a maybe.
- leknarf 13y agoApologies to both of you! If I haven't gotten back to you, then you're on our waitlist. I've been scheduling interviews with folks on the waitlist as quickly as possible, but we're actually getting applicants faster than I can respond to them. We're working on streamlining the process and are getting faster at it each week.
- Mutinix 13y agoThanks for the reply! I was just curious, so apologies if I sounded rude there.
- inklesspen 13y agoI had the same experience. I understand if this is hard to do, but from my perspective it would help if I can expect to hear back from you in a few days, a few weeks, or a few months.
- sycren 13y agoCan you define 'technology professionals'? I'm a marketing strategy consultant specialising in analytics and optimisation. Does this fit your niche?
- leknarf 13y agoIt's been entirely development and design so far, but I think it makes sense to include work like conversion optimization in the future. I won't have any leads for you this month, but would love to chat sometime. I'll let you know as we expand!

- Two9A 13y agoI don't know if you're doing this deliberately, but: your join form's modal is too large for my browser screen, and doesn't scroll. Turning off position:fixed helps, but any resizes to the window just re-apply it. Thought you should know.
