Here's a particularly good subthread. It would be at the top, but the root comment was controversial:

- wenxun2 13y agoI'm the OP of the previous thread on Friday: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6455391 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6455391 The thread hit the top spot of front page for a while, then somehow it was silently taken down, and my HN account "wenxun" was soft-banned.

- SwellJoe 13y agoYour "wenxun" account is not currently banned in any manner I can see, nor can I see any indication the thread was taken down. If it was taken down at some point, it was corrected soon after. (I only know there are many mods, and not who they are...other than pg.)
- Luc 13y agoThe previous thread disappeared unnaturally fast from the front page, which is what I think wenxun is referring to.

- pbreit 13y agoPossibly reasonable considering you even admit that you repost the same stale post every time the company is mentioned.
- SwellJoe 13y agoI have no idea what you're talking about. I've only posted twice in threads about this company, with my reply to wenxun making it three. All three comments were in pretty different contexts.
- jval 13y agoLove how the investor who authored that subthread was a founder of Betfair, and is trying to defend how ethical the JustFab business model is. ... his credibility level on this topic is over 9000.
- javert 13y agoWhat's wrong with Betfair?
- gadders 13y agoHow is Betfair unethical?
- phpnode 13y agoit's a company that promotes gambling, it's obvious why some people would think that's unethical
- gadders 13y agoNo more so than, say, day trading.
- 001sky 13y agoGambling (for clients) is a negative-sum game. Market indices (that are not rigged) random walk but with an underlying drift. The claim that day-traders cannot beat the market (index) does not mean they need to mathematically be negative in returns (on average). So, this is patently false assertion.
- jval 13y ago.. how is Betfair ethical?
- gadders 13y agoIt lets people of their own free will exercise their judgement to wager on sporting and other events. Unless you think all gambling is by definition unethical for religious reasons, I'd say they were pretty legit.
