No, this technology is still far from a "bridge the gap" solution to paralysis that would return both function and sensation to the body below the SCI. Still, natural brain control of a robotic prosthesis is a [pun ahead] big step in the right direction.
- omegant 13y agoI know that he doesn´t get sensation, but if they are able to detect nerves firing to move the leg, they may do the same to make a quadriplegic walk. Of course it will be orders of magnitude more difficult due to the huge quantity of nerves. Maybe it´ll be easier to learn how to reconnect the nerves themselves..
