There is nothing wrong with a 'whole lot of slow cores.' In fact, it is essentially how the human brain works.
- coldtea 13y agoAnd who said that "how the human brain works" it's what's best for what we use a computer for (hint: not just AI). If we had just that, then we couldn't do 3D graphics, number crunching or any other highly computational task adequately.
- kaoD 13y agoGPUs (which are useful for both 3D graphics and number crunching) are actually a bunch of slow cores.

- coldtea 13y agoNot so sure. The human brain is bad at number crunching. GPUs are not just a "number of slow cores" they have other, enormous optimizations that the human brain does not share.
