- IBCNU 13y agoI had to turn my lurker-cloak shield off and tip my hat to you my friend I have never heard of this! I remember my Quantum teacher introducing the concept of a one electron universe, and at the time it sounded like some 19th century type explaining that glass is a liquid, but this, my dear God... this is amazing.
- drjesusphd 13y agoThank you kind sir. Now combine this idea with the Heat Death of the Universe...
- chegra 13y agoI will see your Boltzmann brain, and raise you Infinite monkey Theorem. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem
- jeremyswank 13y agothis is hilarious, guys. keep it goin'.
- anigbrowl 13y agoI will see your infinite monkey theorem and raise you Bicameralism (psychology). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicameralism_(psychology) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicameralism_(psychology)
- ISL 13y agoBy request, I'll see your Bicameralism and raise you the Banach-Tarsky Paradox. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banach%E2%80%93Tarski_paradox http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banach%E2%80%93Tarski_paradox

- gjm11 13y agoHence the old mathematicians' joke: I say, I say, I say, can you find an anagram of BANACH-TARSKI? Yes: BANACH-TARSKI BANACH-TARSKI. (Mathematicians' sense of humour doesn't necessarily resemble anyone else's.)

- mratzloff 13y agoIn 2003, lecturers and students from the University of Plymouth MediaLab Arts course used a £2,000 grant from the Arts Council to study the literary output of real monkeys. They left a computer keyboard in the enclosure of six Celebes Crested Macaques in Paignton Zoo in Devon in England for a month, with a radio link to broadcast the results on a website. Not only did the monkeys produce nothing but five pages consisting largely of the letter S, the lead male began by bashing the keyboard with a stone, and the monkeys continued by urinating and defecating on it.
- nkurz 13y agoWild! The original seems down, but archive.org has copies: http://web.archive.org/web/20031203230517/http://www.vivaria.net/experiments/notes/publication/ http://web.archive.org/web/20031203230517/http://www.vivaria...
- jplur 13y agoReally late to the party, but I've always wanted to ask this: people say with infinite entropy every combination will occur eventually, but can't you have an infinity of gibberish?
- JonnieCache 13y agoHere's an exciting ramble from Sean Carroll about possible Boltzmann Brains in our real universe: http://www.preposterousuniverse.com/blog/2013/08/22/the-higgs-boson-vs-boltzmann-brains/ http://www.preposterousuniverse.com/blog/2013/08/22/the-higg...
