I think Matt did a pretty good job of showing how they were at about the same level of complexity for a new audience, but one of the things you don't see is that (A) there's error handling, (B) the system will only run commands as needed and of course using things like 'with_items' and 'notify' ends up making it a lot shorter. But yeah, most of Hacker News already has a read on that :)
