- chaostheory 17y agowell it doesn't make sense when we don't modify the GPL projects and when we don't distribute our code
- jganetsk 17y agoDo you distribute the binary?
- chaostheory 17y agonope - it's just a server side app for internal use
- ZeroGravitas 17y agoYes, and Microsoft's attitude to Open Source and Free Software is well known for its rationality and basis in fact.
- jganetsk 17y agoI'm not talking about Microsoft's general approach to conducting business over the last 30 years. Microsoft (and many other large software companies) prohibits their programmers from viewing GPL'd source code. This policy is based on the shark-infested waters of our litigious society. This is Microsoft's open source division: http://port25.technet.com/ http://port25.technet.com/ They have to be kept away from the proprietary intellectual property. It's like separating your dairy and your meat when keeping Kosher. Microsoft has to separate tainted developers from untainted ones.
