That's only true if no one is wearing headphones. Both the OP and many of the commenters here state headphones are necessary for these environments. My own experience in an open office was the same way, headphones all day every day. The people with headphones are excluded in exactly the same way as if the conversation had happened behind closed doors.
- chollida1 13y agoTrue, but the key point is that alteast here if they are excluded its because they want to be. The key take away point is: An open office lets the introverts have more say than when everyone is in offices.
