It is important to cut these evil companies to size by boycotting them.
- dmitrygr 13y agoWonder if FSF will care about this? Or if they can help.
- aylons 13y agoThey don't hold rights for the kernel, so they can't. Linux Foundation can, as do anyone who contributed to the kernel they are using.
- dmitrygr 13y agoDo you think it would be worthwhile to try? I really would love to see the proper and complete source released for this card - it is a cute and capable device, and having to hack module.c to make use of it seems wrong.
- aylons 13y agoI think you should. This is so blatant I doubt they would try to argue.
- jlgaddis 13y agoFind anyone who has a.) contributed code to the kernel (and, thus, holds copyright on it) and b.) wants to pursue a claim of copyright infringement. Any kernel contributor should have standing, AIUI. (standard "IANAL" and "I speak only for myself" disclaimers apply)
- belorn 13y agoThe developers of u-boot also has that option.
- greyfade 13y agoGPL-violations.org helps organize enforcement efforts: http://gpl-violations.org/ http://gpl-violations.org/
- benatkin 13y agoI don't think the Linux Foundation will want the FSF involved on this.
- 13throwaway 13y agoYou don't need to boycott them. They are clearly breaking the license agreement so the Linux Foundation can just sue them.
- Nursie 13y ago>> It is important to cut these evil companies to size by boycotting them. Or encourage them to participate by releasing source, then we all win.
