This is good because in effect it can be life in prison, but the case is revised every X years - as opposed to being sentenced to life in prison beforehand, then making a lawyer rich trying to make a judge revisit your case.
- scott_s 13y agoPeople sentenced to life in prison don't typically have the means to make a lawyer rich.

- Fuxy 13y agoThere's always the potential to abuse the system but the alternative is worse. The X years means a chance to be free (hope) if you remove that what is their motivation to be peaceful?
- Sae5waip 13y agoNot getting in jail again. Especially since by that time they may be quite a bit older and another sentence might mean 'for life'.
- Fuxy 13y agoDepends how much they like prison. Some people may feel overwhelmed when released. They suddenly have to go to work and get along with people after living in a box having food provided for them. It may just seem too stressful and they would just commit another crime to go back to jail.
- gtirloni 13y agoThe whole point of Bastoy is that they don't feel overwhelmed and actually learn a thing or two about living in a society. This absurd situation (where someone wants to go back to jail) only happens when criminals are turned into animals and kept in boxes for extended periods of time without any support.
