I'm fairly certain Bump doesn't even use NFC. I'm not even sure what this comment has to do with the story. Am I way off? They (were?) using a patented algorithm working on accelerometer signals to figure out which devices were being "bumped" together server-side.

Yeah I am confused too after seeing all the discussion on NFC. I thought Bump uses the accelerometer (and thus works on the iphone too). SO where did NFC come in all of this?
