In the aftermath of Katrina, people from Walmart and other organizations tried to bring water to stranded people in New Orleans, and FEMA turned them away. What was the motivation there? Maintaining orderly road traffic?
- josefresco 13y agoIn an ideal situation, these awesome volunteers would be able to deliver the water to those stranded with no issues. However the situation is never ideal, and the last thing FEMA wants is more people to rescue or create a difficult situation for rescue efforts.
