I wonder if this deal was staged from the beginning. Stephen Elop leaves Microsoft to become CEO of Nokia. He can't turn things around there (and/or may not have had any intention to do so), does his due diligence and shops the company back to his former employer, and is back at Microsoft. Sounds a bit too convenient, doesn't it? I know similar things happen elsewhere, but this is all I could think about throughout this--a super easy and convenient acquisition.
