Agree that the purpose of the 5C is to keep margins up rather than grow market share. The interesting relationship isn't between the price of the 5C and the 5S, it's between the price of the 4S and 5C. It seems to be targeting people who would have bought a 4S, not people who wouldn't have bought an iPhone at all.
