He's one of those people who's name you can't avoid repeatedly tripping over. I took UC Davis's graduate Intro to Cryptography class from him. It was fun to see how much of crypto history he has been involved with. Interestingly (given the subject matter of this post) he is also well known on campus for teaching a very good Technology Ethics class.
