- nsfmc 13y agonetflix thinks i will give it 4.6 stars...did you like The Lives of Others? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405094/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405094/
- dchest 13y agoI didn't watch The Lives of Others (will do, thanks for suggestion). The Conversation's IMDB rating is 8.0, which is why I watched it, and while the movie was not bad, it was boring :)
- bcl 13y agoI don't remember what they predicted, but since I usually like Gene Hackman movies it was likely 3-4 stars. I gave it 2, way too boring for even a 70's movie.
- simonebrunozzi 13y agoI think "The lives of others" was a great movie. I'd recommend it.
- kitcar 13y agoReading up a little on it beforehand may make you appreciate it more, the movie is really an pivotal moment in the development of sound design as a core aspect of film making. I know the first time I saw it I found it boring as well, but then a second viewing after reading up on it was much more enjoyable. http://www.philipbrophy.com/projects/mma/Conversation.html http://www.philipbrophy.com/projects/mma/Conversation.html http://cinephilefix.wordpress.com/2009/11/17/the-power-of-sound-and-editing-the-conversation-and-psycho/ http://cinephilefix.wordpress.com/2009/11/17/the-power-of-so...
