I have taken to always keeping my GPS down in the tray below my radio. The further away from where I should be looking, the less distracting it is and the less I look at it. TTS is getting good enough that I think GPS units without displays at all may be perfectly serviceable. As it is, I almost entirely go by sound with mine already.
