Over 10% of Alexa TOP Million Websites Are Not Safe – Infographic Report
- jacquesm 13y agoClever advertising. I wouldn't count on blacklisting by McAfee and programs like that for a thing like this. I'd like to just scan for issues rather than to trust on secondary reporting. The fact that google lists a much lower number is a telltale here, google is doing a pretty good job of staying current in this respect and with McAfee and other companies that trade lists they pride themselves on size of the list which skews them towards fast addition but slow removal.
- mumbi 13y agoA million websites is a lot. I'd be more worried if 10% of the top 100 were unsafe.
- FollowSteph3 13y agoMcafee also tends to have a lot of false positives whereas google is much more diligent in this. So I wouldn trust googles numbers much more. They also have a much stronger motivation against false positives than Mcaffee.
- brokentone 13y agoA bit of a self serving post, with alarming, invalid stats. Suggesting that all sites that use old versions of WordPress (and other CMSes) are "not safe" is disingenuous. WP 3.6 (current version) has no security updates listed in the release notes (http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.6 http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.6), and it's entirely possible they (WP) added vulnerabilities in this release. Just because it's newer doesn't mean it's better. Sucuri, you just lost my respect. You should know better.
