This is unfortunately correct. The border agent has final say in letting you into the country (regardless of the legitimacy of your documents).
- kamjam 13y agoI'm the same in at the immigration for my own country (UK) but as soon as I set foot in the line-up for any other country, it's "yes sir" and "no sir". I'm not a tourist, it's my right to enter my own country.
