I work for a company in Utah that makes kits to convert single-person driven vehicles (e.g., cars, trucks, motorboats) into autonomous vehicles (http://kairosautonomi.com/ http://kairosautonomi.com/). At least one of their mining areas is highly irradiated. The radiation is so high that drivers reach their life-time radiation limit in about 6 months of driving. So they're automating their fleet of trucks to avoid the need to constantly replace drivers.
