As someone in a similar situation as the OP, I'll jump in. I've been a Technical PM for a while... I've grown tired of dealing with Clients on a daily basis.

As someone in a similar situation as the OP, I'll jump in. I've been a Technical PM for a while... I've grown tired of dealing with Clients on a daily basis. I'm tired of the days of back to back meetings or meetings every half hour on the hour to deal with 8 different clients that want attention to piddly problems. For me I'd much rather switch to a technical management route.
