This shouldn't be down voted. It's significant that it's not "Mayor Bloomberg". "Title Lastname" is the format that it used to refer to candidates.

- danso 13y agoNo, NYT style is to use Mr. and Ms. on second reference when using last names. This applies to even the President. - krschultz 13y agoThat's the NYT editorial style. If I remember correctly, it was notable that they did not use Mr. for Osama Bin Laden's obituary. Short of that, you are getting a Mr.
