It's easy to work around if you know how. Log in to your account and then hit this link:

That took me 8 fucking hours on the phone to Microsoft support to get out of them. Asshats.
- jmuguy 13y agoI wish they would just let you remove the Xbox account from your Live.com account but nope! I might just close it anyway, like I'm ever going to use Outlook.com
- frou_dh 13y agoThanks, but that seems to be just deactivating the email part. I want to close the entire MS account and it still won't let me.
- harrytuttle 13y agoIt will close the whole account down after 30 days. If you log in during that time it will reactivate it.
