I was being somewhat hyperbolic, though one part of me rejects any sort of wiretap. But in practice I would be happy with the way things are supposed to be, where a warrant backed up by probable cause is required for each individual being targeted for surveillance, and it must be for a specific investigation only, not for dragnet searching in the hopes of finding something on them.
