UK teen crowned world Microsoft Word 2007 champion
- dossy 13y agoDid bbc.co.uk get taken over by theonion.com?
- mugenx86 13y ago"Career-wise I think it will show any employers I know how to use a Microsoft Office product" "With school, I'll be able to write reports and essays and stuff and make it a bit more fancy, to hopefully get a few extra marks." Is this a joke?
- mcintyre1994 13y agoI bet he has every trick in the book for reaching page counts without changing the content.
- hardwaresofton 13y agoWhile this is pretty ridiculous, I want to point out that it wouldn't be that ridiculous if he was crowned world Microsoft Excel champion. He would be on the fast track to the financial sector and .NET supremacy. Word is generally not an amazing thing to be "champion" of. Excel might be though
- yolesaber 13y agoThe UK also counts the world's Excel 2007 champ among its citizens http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14401766 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14401766
- hardwaresofton 13y agoGood lord. There's no way that lady doesn't have a high-ranking job by now. [EDIT] - automatically assumed it was a 'guy'.
- bobbles 13y agoThe article gives absolutely no context around what being a 'word champion' even means... this is useless
- Lerc 13y agoI'm sure if they went into a lot of detail on how they defined world champion you could rest assured that it would remain useless.
- focus1 13y ago...why is this on Hacker News?...
- minimaxir 13y agoWhy Word 2007, instead of Word 2010 or Word 2013?
