In Spain I lived in Granada, Oviedo and Gijón(north), Madrid(center) and Alicante, all of them near big mountains.
Every single time I took my bicycle, and I love it, I will have to go up or down 200, 400meters. I log it with the GPS.
Electrical bikes improve the issue, but it will take time until they are cheap.
