Please show me a password manager which does NOT store passwords in a reversible form. Hint: it's not possible.
- avty 13y agoIt is possible with SSO.
- dragonwriter 13y agoNo, SSO is different solution to some of the same problems solved by a password manager, it is not a means of having a password manager that stores passwords in an irreversible form.
- knodi123 13y agoI have a great little password manager that doesn't store them reversibly. Sure, sometimes it's hassle to wait a few hours while it brute forces one, and sure, there's a temptation to use shorter passwords to make that step faster... But the increase in cryptographic security makes me feel a lot better.
- GravityWell 13y agoCorrect, and this is the point that is being missed by so many, despite their hyperbole. Chrome could prevent the display of the password as a design choice, but the password must be reversible otherwise how could you send it on to the authenticating server? Only the authenticating server stores non-reversible hashes.
