Worked for IBM as a software engineer on one of their master data projects, it was challenging work but ultimately quite dull and very little room for creativity. The workplace was really nice though, a software lab with 2000+ developers, catering, sports fields, a bar etc. Even with all that, it got boring and tedious quickly, and I never felt appreciated or recognised for my work.
Now I work for a startup with about 15 employees as a front end developer and it's really great, I have almost complete creative control over what I do, the atmosphere is friendly and inclusive and we have a helter skelter in the office ;)
