This was an early example of internet crowd funding.
- manuelflara 13y agoI don't think so. He just got a bunch of customers to pay for advertisement on his site. Like any business supported on ads, basically.
- phamilton 13y agoTrue, but you could also say he ran a campaign to crowdfund his education and offered rewards in the form of pixels. The lines between crowdfunding, accepting preorders, and just running a business are fairly blurry.
