"If social media is going to be used in one way to monitor worker productivity, why can it not also be used to advocate for a more civil exchange between worker and consumer?" ... right, because putting things up in public on the internet encourages "civil exchange". Not saying that it's unreasonable to advocate whatever position you like, but that is an incredibly silly justification.
