I do remember a case on a mail list that shall go unnamed, where an "experienced" member of the list sarcastically told a newbie that typing "rm -rf /" would "solve her problem". Unfortunately, she dutifully tried it and wondered why her machine wasn't working any more. There was quite a shitstorm on the list after that. The smartass did feel very bad afterward.
