Too many people are making the assumption that this is the new normal, or has something to do with the morals of a group of people.
Instead, it is simply a market at work. Right now there are too few highly skilled programmers and too many job openings. Exacerbating the effect is cheap capital which allows companies to keep raising salaries.
When the market shifts, which it invariably will, hiring will slow and average tenure will increase.
